2007 is almost well-baked and done. An exciting and busy year for us. Long time, no speak. Sorry for the cobwebs obscuring the view on this-here websiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight! We've been busy scheming and writing for the next record. Last night we discovered this time-shifting-Lee Perry button on one of our little boxes and we've also been experimenting with pretty-lightbulb-grid melody sequencing. We can't wait to share what we've been coming up with.

Meanwhile, this last week saw a nice mention in The Daily Telegraph's 10 Best Albums of 2007! Uncut put us in their round up of cover artwork for 2007. Life Embarrasses Me On Planet Earth was #2 next to Bjork's Volta. EP strikes again! Hello to our new friends in Europe and the UK. Thanks for having us again in September. Some really memorable shows in Paris, Brussels, End of the Road Fest and our London headline at the Luminaire, where we debuted our live concert films, once again under oversight by Encyclopedia Pictura, with the invaluable assistance from our new friend Arne Drescher, who helped us realize this vision!

This year we made 3 videos, hopefully you've had a chance to see them. We'll be uploading them along with some of the live visuals/films soon. They were fun, painful, frustrating, exhausting, mind-expanding, inspiring, beautiful and ugly in near equal measures. Thanks to all who were part of this! A big thank-you to Michael and Steve of Lucky Number Music who brought us to the UK several times this year and helped us share our vision with people all over this big earth. Hello Japan also! See you in 2008! Here's hoping that 2007 was good for you as it was for us..until then..

September UK/Europe dates announced with more TBA

Wednesday, August 1, 2007
Long time..no news. Lots of stuff has happened. We had a fantastic June in the UK where we had the privelege of playing in John Peel's old studio at Maida Vale. R.I.P.! Much thanks to Rob Da Bank and the talented engineers which made our job amazing. We also did sessions at XFM for Jon Kennedy and BBC 6 Music, all really fun. We'll be eventually posting some audio here in the future. Our first London show was greeted by a rapturous review from the Independent and several other London shows went off well.

The Lunar EP was released last week and has been getting some fantastic reviews as well. This is soon to be released in America on CD/Vinyl/Digital. This is accompanied by a video for the Lunar One single from the ep, directed by Elliot Jokelson (TV On The Radio, Pinback, etc.) The previous video for Haven't Been Yourself, has also done the rounds on the blogs and MTV Europe. This was screened at the LA Museum of Natural History and received a Bay Area Music Video Award as part of MCMF.

What's next....we're working on songs that will make up album 2! Filming a video for the next single..about a guy who's way laid by the bling attack and his mundane existence and forgets that life is magic. We'll be back in Europe/UK in September with dates in Dorset, London, Holland with more dates to be announced on the continent and in Ireland. Just got back a stellar remix from Joakim that will likely grace the next single with artwork by Souther Salazar!

We are currently looking for a new US publicist and booking representation. Please send emails to info@seventeenevergreen.com There's much more to tell you, but that's all for now, it's time to go outside where it smells delicious. If we are missing from these parts, please check our myspace. We miss you all.

Our full length album, "Life Embarrasses Me On Planet Earth" was released in the UK and Europe today! For those of you who may have the limited US version, the new release has been remastered and has new exclusive artwork from our pals, EP. The Haven't Been Yourself single is also available now on Lucky Number. Both Available Here

We are in NY shooting the video for our upcoming 2nd UK single. This is directed by Elliot Jokelson and will feature russian cosmo-nymph-naut backing singers and our first forays into choreographed moves in zero-gravity.

The "Haven't Been Yourself" video is making the rounds on MTV2 in UK/Europe and was viewed online over 11,000 times in it's first day of release. For those of you who haven't seen the video for "Haven't Been Yourself", enjoy here in it's full splendor http://www.encyclopediapictura.com/seventeenevergreen.mov or here if you want it quick: http://www.gofish.com

We just finished a new song we are very excited about, entitled "Atlas", which is a Japanese-only exclusive extra track. Another version of the tune will be released digitally and as the b-side to the upcoming "Lunar One" single, released on June 4th.

We will be coming to the UK in June, dates will be announced soon.

Video Shoot for Haven't Been Yourself!

Yesterday was amazing!
We begun at 7:00am with an army of us marching over a steep ridge in a remote part of northern California to the north of San Francisco into a meadow with surrounding forest and swooping black birds. We were then besuited and heavily make-upped for the vivid color effect they'll be going for in post production. Lots of super stunt man-maneuvering down steep hills, dodging boulders, flying over ravines, where we collided with our human partners and collapse into a writhing slimy mess.
The day ended near sundown as we were all freezing, after being doused in pudding for the final dog pile scenes. We looked bloody and aboriginal after all was said and done, passerby at the top of the trail, looking at us in disbelief with our magenta bodysuits and matching pink pudding encrusted over our bodies. Much thanks to Encyclopedia Pictura! Amazing to watch those guys work and pull it all together and to all models, grapplers and crew, who all put so much energy into this! Fantastic group of people. Special thanks to Northern California for giving us a backdrop that no artificial set could provide. Today, everyone in the regular world appears to have green skin. Green being the opposite of Magenta. Very sore and beaten up feeling today, though victorious! images coming soon...

UK Album, Singles for 2007 release!

We recently signed a licensing deal with Lucky Number Music ( http://www.luckynumbermusic.com/) who will oversee our UK/European activities! A limited edition 7" single will be coming out in the UK in late January. Artwork is once again by Isaiah Saxon and is excellent as usual. A video to accompany the single will be released simultaneously. This will be directed by Encyclopedia Pictura, who do not disappoint. The concept is fantastic. Watch this space for updates. "Life Embarrasses Me On Planet Earth", was remixed in part by Brandon Proctor (Skywalker Ranch) and got the full remastering job for maximum listening pleasure. This will be released on Lucky Number in March/April preceded by another single taken from the album and exclusive b-sides/remixes.
